Baby face sphere

Stoneware, metallic gold glaze. I started working with moulds a few years ago and found this face. I have since searched high and low for new and unusual faces to use within my work, to that end, my workshop is littered with the headless corpses of various sizes of dolls! I love the randomness of the faces as they are formed within the mould, squashed noses and staring eyes go towards making each piece totally individual and unique. The glaze pools within the eye sockets and wiping back the glaze ensures that the prominent features are emphasized, I love making these pieces.
